SPINA

FORM - FUNCTION - LOGIC - DIMENSION

Disparate elements, summed up into a visual sensory, geometric and emotional exercise.

3 MODULES – 40 CONNECTORS – 95 LEGS – 304 NIPPLES

The look of the three bodies’ structure and nippled surface resembles the old spanish doors, cabinets and chests covered with iron nails from early gothic period.

The core structure are made of different materials recycled fully covered with paper pulp. Dyed paper pulp cladding has been crafted following ancient methods to get the right look and touch.

Applied by hand, covering every nook and corner on a painstaking process, the subsequent pulp layers beam their raw texture as glue and cellulose dry. An aesthetic contrast between blurred shapes and right angles. Between organic textures and pure lines.

The iterative extrusions, legs and connector create a hypnotic light and shadows dialogue.

Three massive and tough appearance cubist modules seem to float over near one hundred columnar legs.
